#UFC257: McGregor defeats by "The Diamond" Dustin

The UFC 257 main event between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier last Sunday in Abu Dhabi ends with a spectacular performance from both lightweight division fighter. 

Dustin Poirier stunned Connor McGregor with a second-round knockout by multiple strike and kickboxing punch seconds before McGregor fall to the grown completely. 

Conor McGregor fighting for the first time in 12 months after defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov, who are currently the UFC Lightweight Division Champion. 

He made a decent start at the first round by giving Poirier a pressure and dominance in the cage. 

Them both had a fight back in 2014 where Conor wins the fight over Dustin, and now its equaled. 

"I'm happy but I'm not surprised. I put in the work. Conor took this result very professionally, he's a pro and nothing but respect. We're 1-1, maybe we have to do it again," Poirier said after his win.


Will Khabib Nurmagomedov (29-0) come out of retirement? Poirier claimed he was the champion after his win over McGregor, if Khabib was not returning, but the American should be lining up a shot at the UFC lightweight holder.

After the fight, both of them had a new records in their UFC career:

 Poirier: 27-6-0

McGregor: 22-5-0
