Jesse Lingard mark his first West Ham game with a brace. The Manchester United loanee helped David Moyes' side defeat Aston Villa 3-1 at Villa Park last night.

The first half of the game ended goalless and six minutes after the restart the Hammers broke the deadlock through midfielder Tomas Soucek's eighth Premier League goal of the season.

Just five minutes later, the Hammers, who have moved up to fifth as a result of their fifth win in their last six league outings, doubled their advantage through Lingard. Striker Michail Antonio carried the ball forward with his pace, picked out Lingard on the far side of the penalty area and the Manchester United loanee's powerful effort was too hot for Emiliano Martinez in the Villa goal to handle.

However, Villa threatened to spoil the Hammers' evening nine minutes from time when they pulled a goal back through Ollie Watkins, threatening to set-up a tense final ten minutes or so.

But fear not, the Hammers restored their two-goal cushion just two minutes later as Lingard bagged his second of the night. This time, Antonio played the ball to his right, Lingard picked it up just inside the box, took a touch and fired another powerful strike at Martinez, with the former Arsenal man once again proving unable to keep it out.

The Manchester United loanee wheeled away in delight, as he sealed the points once and for all, ensuring Moyes' men continued their excellent run of form.
