Review: Finding Jack Charlton
Finding Jack Charlton is an 2020 English documentary film about the life of Jack Charlton.
The best documentary in 2020 i would say. The documentary is about Jack Charlton who won the 1966 World Cup for England alongside his brother Bobby. It tells the story of how Jack views the world in general and in Football.
At the time of recording the film, Jack is suffering from dementia with experts on the film said that it is linked with Jack's heading the ball throughout his career but his wife and son would deny it. From start to finish, they would play audio quotes of his past interviews to get his insights for his players. For example, Paul Mcgrath. They interviewed Paul to tell stories about Jack but had to take past interviews of Jack to get his view on Paul.
One clip that made me smile was when Jack was in his kitchen looking at a laptop that plays video of Paul Mcgrath and at one time he said "That's Paul Mcgrath".
The documentary also tells the story on Jack's Ireland career where he was hate by the fans at the time and went on to change the Republic of Ireland's football scene.
The documentary all in was top tier as it is not only for football fans as all sorts of viewers will be amazed by it.
